The Gracey 7/8 curette is a double-ended, site-specific instrument engineered for subgingival scaling and root planing. Its blade is offset at approximately 70° to the terminal shank, so only the lower cutting edge is used — this gives correct blade-to-root angulation with minimal soft-tissue trauma and superior tactile feedback compared with universal curettes.
