Flat-head prophy brushes for a slow-speed handpiece — used where a rubber cup cannot get purchase, particularly on occlusal surfaces and deep pits and fissures before sealant placement.

Flat head. The flat profile spreads pressure across the occlusal table instead of concentrating it in one spot.

Brushes are more abrasive than cups: keep them off exposed root surfaces and cementum.
